NATIONAL URBAN EDEN DAY: AUGUST 1ST
National Urban Eden Day has been selected as one of the new holidays to be included in McGraw-Hills's "Chases Calendar of Events 2007". Urban Eden Day will help create recognition of the many important ways that dogs increase the health, wellness and happiness of people, especially in an urban environment. We want to educate the public about the pivotal role that dogs play in all aspects of our lives.
We desire to increase the acceptance of dogs, leashed and unleashed, into all of the public spaces of our cities; taxis, restaurants, stores and malls. Our goal is that the physical, mental and emotional health benefits of dogs be made available to everyone, everywhere, all the time, just as they are in the great cities of Europe. To further this goal, we advocate the Good Dog Doctrine" to ensure the public’s safety.
URBAN EDEN’S “GOOD DOG DOCTRINE" FOR PUBLIC SAFTEY
The public has the right to be safe from dog bites.
The public has the right to act stupid around dogs, and not get bitten.
The public has the right to “good dogs“.
The public has a right to clean, healthy, well-groomed, well-behaved, “invisible” dogs.
The public has the right to not step in dog droppings.
The public has the right to not be pestered by a dog’s bad behavior: barking, sniffing, being jumped up on, licking, pawing, whining, growling, biting, humping of things, peeing on things.
National Urban Eden Day’s founder, Ami Moore the Chicago Dog Whisperer, believes that it is time to help urbanites reconnect to themselves and nature through their dogs. In addition, it is time to reward and recognize how dogs and our relationship with them helps people become healthier, wealthier, wiser, gentler, kinder and more compassionate.

Now published in the “Chases Calendar of Events”, National Urban Eden Day’s supporters are working diligently to improve the dog-human bond, raise awareness of the value of well-trained, well-mannered dogs in our urban environment and to increase the health and wellness of all residents of America’s cities and towns.
DOG OWNERS
We encourage dog owners with well behaved, well trained dogs, to take their dogs into work on Urban Eden Day as a way to share the message and show the public at large the benefits of the “the good dog”.
We encourage dog owners who would like to support us in our “the good dog” agenda to wear the “Jolly Rover” on Urban Eden Day, and through out the month of August to raise awareness of the benefits of allowing dogs in urban public spaces.

Businesses, schools, restaurants, bars, stores, markets, parks, malls and private individuals who support our goals are encourage to fly the “Jolly Rover” as a way to acknowledge their commitment to welcome the "the good dog ” and their owners into their spaces, places and lives.

We will select individuals, business, animal research facilities, and/or communities who have helped discover, enhance or embrace the dog-human bond in the past year to receive the Urban Eden Day Award, a "Jolly Rover” Flag and cash prize to continue their research.

In addition, we encourage each person in America to donate one dollar to an animal shelter, animal rescue group or animal sanctuary on August 1st, 2006, Urban Eden Day. If every man, woman and child did this, we could raise 200 million dollars to improve animal health and welfare in one day. Let no dog be left behind.
