The 31 Day
Yuppie Puppie Prep School
Program
The 31 day, "Yuppie Puppie Prep School
Program," is a very special program developed for very young puppies that
have caring and concerned pet parents; loving, adoring Doggie Daddies and
Mommies that are long on love, but short on time.
This program is a long-term boarding program with a
minimum stay of 31 days, specifically developed for puppies that are
between 8 weeks and 20 weeks of age only, and over 4 pounds in weight
. You are encouraged to come and pick up your puppy and spend the
weekend enjoying your puppy at your home and then return him to his boarding
school on Monday.
THE YUPPIE
PUPPY PREP SCHOOL
At this stage, the puppy is at the same developmental
stage as a human infant; young, innocent and impressionable, we will make sure
that the puppy learns all of the right things.
The puppy will be loved, conditioned, obedience
trained with positive reinforcement methods and socialized in the gentlest,
most caring environment possible: a loving home.
At Doggie Do Right! Dog
Training, we supply the education, socialization and
loving guidance that will create the puppy dog of your
dreams!
When your puppy's education is complete, you'll bring
home a puppy that will is a joy to own, a puppy that fits seamlessly into your
loving home, a puppy that has been obedience trained, introduced to the
important concepts of potty training and taught all the good manners that will
enable him/her to be you and your family's best friend right now and
forever.
"Left to themselves, dogs tend to go from bad to
worse."
Ami Moore the Dog Whisperer
THE
PREP-SCHOOL COURSE CURRICULUM
Your puppy is kept in our
clean, warm, loving environment. His stay will be a minimum of 30 days to learn
the housetraining skills and potty skills.. During your puppy's vacation with
us, he will play with our personal dogs, interact with our carefully selected,
gentle, sweet and clean boarders and accompany us on our errands.
This is an all inclusive program. We supply everything
that your puppy will need: toys, chew toys, blankets, cookies, collars,
leashes, crates, transportation to the vet and the groomer, all for one
reasonable fee. And of course, lots of love.
"My little pup -- a heartbeat at my feet."
Ami Moore the Dog Whisperer
You, the owner, will be responsible for the following
expenses as they occur or we can keep a running account, and you may settle the
expense account when you pick up your puppy: vet care, all medicines,
flea/heart worm medications, dog food and grooming fees.
Your little fur-baby will learn to be comfortable and
at ease in a suburban/urban environment. Your puppies education will
concentrate on several important areas:
House training or potty training
Simple obedience training
Household good manners and socialization
PUPPY HOUSE
TRAINING/POTTY TRAINING
We will teach your puppy to accept and love his own
room, his crate.
We will teach your puppy that it is safe to be left
alone, which will prevent Separation Anxiety.
We will teach your puppy not to ever go potty in
your house or his room (the crate).
We can even litter box train your puppy dog, if
this fits into your life-style.
We will then provide you with a schedule so that you
can continue the conditioning process until you dog has reached mental maturity
and developed bowel and bladder control.
While we can do the intital conditioning, and teach
the dog the basic concepts of potty training, litterbox training or
housetraining, it will up to you, the owner of the dof to maintain the potty
training rules, limitations and boundaries that we have established until your
dog is mature.
PUPPY
OBEDIENCE TRAINING
Your puppy will be introduced to the five
most important lifesaving commands: sit, down, come, and walk nicely on a
leash. We will show you and your family how to intergrate these life-saving
commands into the natural structure of your life.
"God ... sat down for a moment when the dog was
finished in order to watch it... and to know that it was good, that nothing was
lacking,
that it could not have been made better." --Rainer
Maria Rilke
AT OUR
PUPPY DOG CAMP
Your dog will learn what he lives; and live what he
learns, forever.
Your
puppy will learn to sit before going through doors of all kinds.
He/She
will learn how to answer the front door politely.
Your
puppy will learn how to sit before eating out of his food bowl.
Your
puppy will learn how to greet people politely.
Your
puppy will learn that his place in on the floor, not on beds and furniture.
Your
puppy will learn to have a gentle mouth with adults and children.
Your
puppy will learn to respect food that is in a counter or table.
Your
puppy will learn to leave items that are not his alone.
Your
puppy will learn to ask for your love and attention appropriately.
Your
puppy will learn to mirror your moods; he will play when you wish, and then lie
lovingly and quietly at your feet with a single word from you.
"They, dogs, are better
than human beings, because they know but do not tell." --Emily Dickenson
PUPPY
SOCIALIZATION
A properly socialized dog is
well adjusted and makes a good companion for ever. It is neither frightened by
nor aggressive towards anyone or anything it would normally meet in day to day
living.
The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine
agrees that the socialization period lasts from birth to 5 months of age.
Socialization most easily occurs before the puppy is 5 months old.
At Doggie Do Right-911, we will teach your little,
precious puppy that humans are good and kind.
We will take your puppy to field trips to
elementary schools, to Chicago, to stores, to train stations, to coffee shops,
out to lunch, to ball games, to barbecues, to fancy boutiques, to fancy
parties, on taxi rides, on train rides, to the beach and the forest preserve.
We will take your dog to doggie beaches, doggie
parks and doggie parties so that your puppy is always comfortable with new
dogs.
We will teach your puppy to love being groomed all
over from head to tail, and from tooth to toes.
THE
TRANSITION TO YOUR HOME
When your puppy has completed his/her stay, there will
be a 1 1/2 hour training session offered to you at that time so that you and
your family will understand how to communicate with the puppy.
You will also receive a free yearly 1 hour training
lesson, at our facility, good for the life of the dog, to ensure that the
puppy's good manners and obedience remain intact as the puppy matures and your
life-style evolves.
"He is my other eyes that can see
above the clouds;
my other ears that hear above the
winds.
He is the part of me that can reach
out into the sea.
He has told me a thousand times over
that I am his reason for being;
by the way he rests against my leg;
by the way he thumps his tail at my
smallest smile;
by the way he shows his hurt when I
leave without taking him.
When I am wrong, he is delighted to
forgive.
When I am angry, he clowns to make me
smile.
When I am happy, he is joy unbounded.
When I am a fool, he ignores it.
When I succeed, he brags.
Without him, I am only another man.
With him, I am all-powerful. He is
loyalty itself.
He has taught me the meaning of
devotion.
With him, I know a secret comfort and
a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant.
His head on my knee can heal my human
hurts.
His presence by my side is protection
against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me...
whenever... wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I always
have.
Did You Know... At least 63% of dog owners
admitted to kissing their dogs.
Of these, some 45% kissed them on the nose, 19% on the
neck, 7% on the back, 5% on the stomach and 2% on the legs.
An additional 29% listed the
place they kiss their dog as other!
