Dogs and their owners will make the most of a new dog park at the Kevin Flint Memorial Reserve.
On Sunday, the off-leash dog park in Cairnlea opened, which is suitable for all dogs and offers a range of interesting and challenging activities.
The park was upgraded as part of the state government’s local park program, with Brimbank City Council also contributing funds and administering the project.
The upgrades include a large exercise area with separate areas for small, old and shy dogs, natural browsing areas, sandpit and dry stream for sensory games, agility equipment, new shelter, seating and drinking fountain with dog bowl, double-secured entrances, dog waste dispensers and containers as well as new ones Paths and signage.
Brimbank Mayor Ranka Rasic said the council is thrilled to provide the local community with another green space with recreational opportunities for our residents and visitors.
“This fantastically modernized park offers our furry friends a safe place to run around and play with other pets.
“We have created an attractive and inviting place in our community for dog lovers to enjoy a lot of freedom.
“Getting the right amount of exercise is important to the health and happiness of our pet, and spending time in this new space is proving to be very popular with dogs and their owners.”
