Dog destined to be a mother adopts unwanted puppies after her own dies

French bulldog Perrie was heartbroken after giving birth to a stillborn puppy, but fate brought her a litter of unwanted puppies the next day and she “fell in love at first sight.”

Perrie is “absolutely over the moon” with her new family

A dog mourning the loss of her singleton pup has made efforts to save a litter in distress.

Perrie the French bulldog was always destined to be a mother and it was love at first sight for her new brood.

The four-year-old pooch was left heartbroken after giving birth to a stillborn puppy last week, refusing to eat or leave her bed.

Owner Nakita Wilson, 31, from North Ayrshire, Scotland, said: “She was very sad and crying.

“When I brought her home, she wouldn’t eat and wouldn’t get out of her bed. Me and she were both depressed.”

But the very next day, Nakita received a call from her veterinarian asking her if she would be willing to adopt a litter of abandoned puppies.

The puppies, also French bulldogs, were born on that day – but their cruel owner instructed the vet to put them down because of the length of their tails.

Nakita, who is a breeder and prides herself on breeding healthy, fit and functional Frenchies, believed it was “destiny”.

She said: “The vet called me and started asking how Perrie was after the loss and then said a Frenchie had come for a caesarean and that they had left the puppies behind.

“I was just incredulous that anyone would even do that because they don’t have dicks.

“I knew the puppies’ best chance would be to give them a real mother and that would make Perrie happy.

“But I was also worried about the puppies because they weren’t from responsible breeders.

“We had agreed that Perrie would not have any puppies, but it was just a total turnaround.

“Sometimes mothers who have had their own puppies don’t take her right away, but she did. She really embraced being a mother, I think it was destiny.”

Perrie has since bonded with the litter as if they were her own.

Nakita continued, “She fed them straight away. They cried a lot the first night but after that they calmed down.

“Perrie has always been obsessed with puppies and has tried to steal them from other moms.

“She is the most motherly dog I have ever known and is so happy she got her.”

Nakita shared the story on TikTok last week and showed Perrie excitedly waiting for the box to open before tending to each new puppy.

She wrote, “There’s a reason I surround myself with animals and not humans — humans are sometimes hideous and animals don’t judge.”

The clip has garnered 16.7 million views and thousands of dog lovers have taken to the comments section to share their appreciation.

One person said: “Your vet is great for this, bless these puppies who are being abandoned and your baby accepts them. I hope they are all healthy.”

Another said: “It takes a special mom to adopt puppies right away! Sorry for your loss, singletons are tough. She looks so lucky to have munchkins to take care of.”

Nakita and viewers of the video are also concerned about the birth mother who is now without her puppies and is likely to be bred again in the near future.

One person said: “I’m so sad for the mum of these puppies and hope she’s okay. I am truly amazed that your dog loves them like their own.”

Nakita has since shared updates about the four puppies, which she has named Karma, Kismet, Klover and Asher, as requested.

She added: “Perrie is absolutely over the moon with them, we need to get her food and water to her in the pen as she doesn’t want to leave them for a second.”
