Free app: Hands2Paws is a perfect match for dog breeds and owners

Press Release: Hands2Paws

Hands2Paws is a new application, better known as an app, that aims to match owners with their perfect dog breed based on various lifestyle factors with the ultimate goal of reducing the number of dogs abandoned in animal shelters. The ASPCA and Shelter Animals Count estimates that 3.3 million dogs enter shelters each year.

Hands2Paws is dedicated to solving the problem by ensuring dog owners make informed decisions and welcome a dog into their home that will be a lifelong companion.

“People give their dogs to animal shelters for two main reasons. First, the dog they own doesn’t fit their lifestyle. Second, they cannot afford the health issues that are unfortunately common in an unethically bred dog. By helping people make the right choices for themselves and their families, we can reduce the number of dogs that end up in shelters,” said Elizabeth Menegon, founder of Hands2Paws.

The Hands2Paws application prompts users with a series of questions to determine the best breed for their lifestyle, such as: B. Activity level, size and required care. If the user wants to buy a purebred dog, the app also offers suggestions for ethical breeders in their area. If users decide to adopt, the app will also suggest nearby emergency shelters.

“The app is free and always will be because everyone deserves to have this information when welcoming a dog into their home. We know that dog adoption is a great way to reduce the number of dogs currently in shelters, but we need to start addressing this issue at its core. Our hope is that by helping people find a healthy dog that fits their lifestyle, we’ll have fewer dogs in shelters that need to be adopted,” Menegon said.
