NORTH PORT, Florida – Saturday is National Daughters Day – and the parents of Gabby Petito, of New York – who have called mourners across the country “America’s Daughter” – spent it preparing for their Sunday funeral.

Brian Laundrie, whom the police identified as a person of interest in the activities surrounding Petito’s disappearance, have a daughter as well. For most of the day, they crouched at their home in North Port, Florida, where their son arrived at Petitos Van on September 1 – without her.

Laundrie was not charged in connection with Petito’s death, which the coroner ruled as a homicide. He was charged with debit card fraud – and before police found her body in the bear-rich Wyoming Park, where she was last seen camping, he was gone from his parents’ house

Preparations for Gabby Petito’s funeral Sunday on Long Island

Gabby Petito’s funeral will take place on New York’s Long Island on Sunday, according to an Instagram post from her father.

Services are held at the Moloney Funeral Home in Holbrook and are open to the public from 12pm to 5pm.

“Thank you everyone for your support and love,” he wrote, adding that instead of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the future Gabby Petito Foundation.

Dog the Bounty Hunter joins the search for Brian Laundrie

Fox News has confirmed that Dog the Bounty Hunters will join the search for Brian Laundrie.

Residents of Blue Point, Long Island reportedly lit candles outside their homes Friday night in honor of Gabby Petito.

Petito, whose remains were identified earlier this week, was from the area. Her family is holding funerals in nearby Holbrook this weekend.

“If the community loses one, we all lose,” Jennifer Horton, who attended the vigil, told News 12 in New York. “So just remember the great life she had. To lose her so young and really celebrate her life.”

The candles were distributed to Gabby’s family with a suggested donation of $ 20.

The Florida Statute could benefit Brian Laundrie’s parents

The circumstances surrounding Laundrie’s disappearance have sparked speculation about the alleged role of his parents in helping their son evade authorities.

Laundrie’s parents were followed by undercover officers when they drove to Orlando to see a lawyer: report

Brian Laundrie’s parents were being followed by undercover law enforcement agencies as they drove 250 miles north Thursday to speak to their Orlando attorney, according to the Daily Mail.

The trip took place the day after a federal detention warrant was issued against Laundrie, which officials have been looking for since last Saturday.

They were also followed to their home in North Port, Florida, where they ignored questions from Fox News reporters.

Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino told Fox News Wednesday that his “family is definitely concerned”. [about his whereabouts] but we don’t want to speculate about more. ”
