HBO has the most Emmy nominations, but will the network get the most trophies?

The trend for cable networks and premium streaming providers to dominate the Primetime Emmy Awards continues. While Netflix got the most Emmy nominations in 2020, they’re not the top dog this year. This award goes to HBO, whose HBO Max platform enabled them to oust the streaming service juggernaut. HBO may lead the way in the nominations, but that doesn’t mean the premium content provider gets the most trophies. Could Netflix still get the latest awards? It seems like a possibility.

Netflix received 129 nominations in 2021, but the network remains on the hunt for the most Emmy wins. In fact, it’s entirely possible for HBO and Netflix to switch places.
