K9s For Warriors is hosting a job fair in Jacksonville on Friday, February 4th – 104.5 WOKV

Jacksonville – K9s For Warriors will be hosting a job fair at James Weldon Johnson Park in Jacksonville on Friday, February 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

With its mega kennel in Nocatee nearing completion, K9s For Warriors is looking to fill 40 positions within the next two months and 100 positions within the next year. Positions include K9 caretaker, K9 quarantine trainer, puppy program consultant, veterinary technician, procurement specialist, and maintenance specialist. Salaries include healthcare benefits plus 401,000 options.

CEO Rory Diamond described the mega kennel as the world’s largest rescue dog training center.

“And now we have to hire the amazing team members who will be rescuing training dogs there,” he said.

Diamond says the organization is looking for people who have a heart to serve veterans. K9s For Warriors will train those who want to work with and love dogs.

“We’re going to make it work,” he said. “You don’t need any experience. We will offer you more professional development than you could ever ask for.”

K9s for Warriors is dedicated to providing service dogs to warriors suffering from post-traumatic stress and combat- and duty-related injuries. Their goal is to empower warriors to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.

Diamond is determined to fix the four-year waiting list for the veterans who need a service dog.

“That’s two missions,” he continued. “The solution – expand this mega kennel and rescue tons of dogs, bring them to our kennel, train them to be service dogs and breed them to warriors on our waiting list.” We’re trying to shorten the wait.”

When asked what potential candidates need, Diamond replied, “A smile.”

“You don’t need anything,” he said. “A resume would be great, but not essential. We just want you to show up. Tell us who you are and why you want to work for us and we’ll tell you what jobs we have. No appointment required, no prior experience required.”

Diamond added that candidates will be able to grow within the company.

K9’s For Warriors Nocatee Mega Kennel is scheduled to open on May 4th, 2022.
