LIMINGTON – Nancy Sargent Maxwell died unexpectedly after a brief illness on September 18, 2021 at the age of 72 at her Limington home. Nancy was born on April 19, 1949 in Portland to Alice Blake (Chick) and Carroll P. Sargent. She grew up and spent her childhood in Limington with her mother and grandparents Lila and Leon Blake and later with Alice and Edwin Chick. She attended Limington Schools and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School in 1969. She married Earl Maxwell in November 1975 and they enjoyed 45 years of marriage in their Limington home. Nancy loved her family, friends, and the city of Limington with particular intensity. She greatly enjoyed the simple joys in life, including being with friends, vacationing with family, driving Earl, picking blueberries, fishing in the local streams and lakes, mowing the lawn, four-wheeling, making homemade sweets, talking to friends on the phone and spend time with her beloved dog Kringles. She didn’t ask for much or expect much, and always enjoyed simple joys and recognitions, including unexpected visits from family and friends, small gifts and notes, and her friends’ surprise birthday parties, especially those celebrating her 50th 70th birthday. Nancy died in 2009 to her mother Alice Blake Chick, in 1998 to her father Carroll Sargent, and in 1989 to her stepfather Edwin Chick. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Earl Maxwell of Limington; Brother Lee Chick and wife Lisa Letourneau of Portland; Nephew, Sam Chick of Cumberland; and niece, Abby Chick from South Portland. She also left several cousins ​​and relatives, as well as a large community of close friends, in her beloved hometown of Limington. Her family would also like to thank their longstanding team of health care providers at the Sacopee Valley Health Center for their longstanding care and support at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St. (Rt. 25) in Cornwall. Immediately afterwards there will be a reception in Limington from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (details still open). The funeral will take place privately in Limington Village Cemetery on Pine Hill Road.
