Gone are the days when physical careers dominated the job market and more and more of us sat behind desks 9 hours a day, playing with our fingers and straining our eyes while looking at computer screens.
Nowadays, our brains do most of the work while the heavy lifting and carrying, pulling and lifting is left to machines.
Also transporting cargo isn’t what it used to be as we don’t ride horses around the country anymore. Instead, we sit in trucks and stare at long lines on the freeway while occasionally moving our feet.

But there are still some jobs you can work, make money and save on gym memberships while getting the same results you would get from regular training, sometimes literally, as is the case with personal trainers is.
Another advantage of a sedentary job is that you don’t necessarily have to go to the gym after work to make up for the lack of exercise throughout the day, and you have the whole afternoon free to wind down.
But interestingly, fitness experts Sweatband.com found that respondents with desk jobs were 74 percent less likely to exercise after work than those in more active occupations.
They also found that 68 percent of respondents who did mostly sedentary work said they felt they fell into either the “obese” or “morbidly obese” categories.
The experts listed the 20 best jobs in the UK for calorie burning and while not all of them necessarily pay well, they can be rewarding in other ways too – take walking the dog for example!
