Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi shared videos of Muslim women thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for passing legislation to end the practice on Wednesday.
The Muslim Women (Protection of Marriage Rights) Act prohibits the practice of instant divorce by Muslim men. Any violation of the law is punishable by imprisonment for up to three years.
