Wendy’s, Smokey Bones, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar win MenuMasters


Restaurants that have shown adaptability and perseverance in their culinary development during the pandemic will be honored at this year’s edition MenuMasters celebration thrown by Nation’s Restaurant News, sponsored by Ventura Foods on the evening of October 4th at Mile High Station in Denver.

The new winners are:

Best new menu item: Wendy’s

The new “item” is the entire breakfast platform of the express service chain, which Rollout at the most inopportune time, beginning of March 2020, continued to perform well and contributed to increasing sales.

The new line has proven so successful that Lazy Dog is constantly expanding the variety available, including kid’s meals for $ 6.

In addition, as previously announced, Denver chef and restaurateur Jennifer Jasinski is inducted into the MenuMasters Hall of Fame.

Jasinski is the head of Crafted Concepts that The restaurants Rioja, Bistro Vendôme, Stoic & Genuine and Ultreia in Denver as well as Ultreia Paella Catering. She was instrumental in making the Mile High City a culinary destination.

The 2020 winners, Also honored at the party are Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen for its industry-changing chicken sandwich, Velvet Taco for its ever-evolving Weekly Taco Feature, Buffalo Wild Wings for redesigning its entire menu, Burger King for introducing its meatless Impossible Whopper nationwide, Chipotle Mexican Grill for its health-oriented lifestyle bowls and dog house as a trendsetter in menu innovations, cooperation with other chefs and social commitment.

Last year’s “innovator”, Sarah Grueneberg and Hall of Fame Inductee Thomas Keller will be honored at a later date.
